  Dear Reader,

Through the years, we have cultivated a wonderfully creative garden of friendship.

In knowing Mr. Ken, I have enjoyed reading many of his writings and have always
desired that others have an opportunity to experience his literary gift as I have.

It is with great joy that I create this site to share his thoughts with you.

Born in Wichita, Kansas in 1922, Kenneth Merle Morrison has been a resident of Central Louisiana for over forty years. During his adult life he has lived in Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Natchez, Mississippi and St. Louis, Missouri.

He is the father of two children, Grandfather of four, and Great Grandfather of two.
His wife is deceased.

His interest in writing received a friendly boost from an English Professor at Centenary College where he was enrolled in an English Composition class that emphasized creative writing. When the professor announced that no one should expect to receive and A in that particular class, he accepted it as a challenge, and when the grades were handed out at the end of the semester, he discovered he had broken the grade barrier and had been given an A. That was the beginning
of a life long interest in writing.

His ability to place thoughts on paper in an organized fashion was shaped and sharpened by a background of public speaking. He came to understand that the written word, as with the spoken word, must find a way to penetrate and gently stir the emotions of the reader.

A cancer survivor, he also survived a devastating house fire that left him bereft of personal possessions. These life experiences have given him new insights into the
multitude of unwanted events that often occur in the lives of his readers.

His hobbies include a continuing interest in horticulture, which began when he married his wife whose family established one of the first plant nurseries in the area now known as the Nursery Capital of Louisiana. He became proficient in grafting camellias and later was successful in developing a new variegated variety of the venerable German Ivy for which he received a United States patent.

He is a veteran of World War II and worked for the Boeing Airplane Company in the Engineering Department. Later he became a member of the United States Navy Air Corps and served until the end of the war.

Today he continues to write and has as his constant companions, three very unique felines named Tom, Abby and Andy.

A young boy was being complimented on a drawing
he had created. "But that isn't my best one," he said. When asked why he had not submitted his best drawing,
he replied, "I haven't drawn it yet."
